Kindly leading you on.

I've been losing my mind this week.

I'm all over the place trying to clean for my mom's stay. The cleaning has been swell, given that the second floor of our apartment is like a sweltering jungle. I need to get a mini-air condish for that STAT. I digress. Mother and I have some fun plans, and she's excited to hang with my girlfriends and be a "cool mom." She's very interested in the fact that I eat tofu and hummus, and therefore I plan on showing her the organic Brooklyn way. Ha. She gets in tonight and then I'll probably cook her some tofu and vegetables and we'll settle in for a good chick flick.

Tomorrow morning my mom and a couple of my girlfriends are venturing to Long Island for a covert mission...that may or may not involve something white. (!!!) Then probably Baby Mama.

In other news, I can't believe it's almost the end of April. What?! I'm excited for May, though - Bamboozle, friends in town, Motion City's WEEK in New York, Tegan&Sara concierto, my brother's college graduation and PARTY, and some quality Jesse time, of course!

Let's do a report on my non-internet media intake: I'm reading Edith Wharton's The Age of Innocence, which is excellent. It's one of those classics (first book written by a woman to win the Pulitzer Prize) that I always wanted to read, but never got around to. Also, I had to read Wharton's Ethan Frome in high school and I hated it. I should probably give it another try. I'm listening to Damone. I'm so making a post about this band, though I know very little about them, and that's okay. They rock and my next muxtape will surely include a song off their last album. And finally, I'm watching: television has fully returned, though apparently ALL ON ONE NIGHT. Srsly? Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, 30 Rock, The Office, and LOST? I skipped Grey's, but everything else was pretty stellar.

Also in May...it's almost summer. Which means my inner nerd emerges as the comic book-based movies roll out. Iron Man...Hulk...(cross-cameos!!) and...AND...

Yes, Christian, you are! You are!
YOU ARE BATMAN.

  2. I definitely hear you on the TV returning all on the same night. I meant to watch Ugly Betty, LOST, and Scrubs last night, but somehow none of that happened. Fortunately there's always the internet to catch up.

    Have fun on your mission!

  4. First, I'm so jealous you are seeing Tegan and Sara.

Second, when you said "cool mom" it reminds me of in Mean Girls, Regina's mom is like, "I'm not like those other moms - I'm a cool mom" and pops her hands on her hips. hahah I love it!
