Mona - we live in a revamped industrial neighborhood in Brooklyn, more specifically Bushwick off the L train. We got this apartment 2.5 years ago when the building still opened and there was no neighborhood to speak of! Now it's bustling, and unfortunately, there's a waiting list for our building! But there are burgeoning apartments in the area, as well as renovated warehouses turned into lofts (like ours!) - it's so much cheaper than Manhattan, though prices in the area are going way up now...part of the reason we stayed is ours stays the same!
