First and foremost, Motion City Soundtrack released a killer single this week called "Inside Out." I highly recommend that you listen to it and buy it. And by all means see it live because it will make you shiver with delight. Weird? I DON'T THINK SO.
P.S. The cover art is rad too!

My new year's eve plans are SET.

Pinterest helped me pick out my latest iPhone case. I pinned several while shopping and one of them garnered close to 100 repins, the one I'm now holding that photo above. It felt like a sign, and kind of like a vote. Now that I have a sweet case and I upgraded to iOS7, I feel like I have a brand new phone. This feeling will likely last until the new iPhones begin appearing...tomorrow.

I think GIFs are the only thing getting me through Fantasy Football this year. I'm losing terribly and it's my singular solace. So far I've been posting a lot of cats and Seinfeld GIFs on the message boards. They are mostly sad reaction GIFs.

I get listless sometimes without a word from you. And then 4:30 rolls around and my inbox goes from " " to (1) and for some reason 27 words are all I need to brighten up again. My productivity skyrockets.

Last night I came home and made coconut chicken curry from scratch. It came out a bit bland, but I am going to rev up the spices next time! I suppose I write these things down here for posterity's sake. I have a serious aversion to non-professional photos of food, so you will not see any photos of my cooking projects. All I have for you are words, reader!

Last night Jesse, myself, and a few friends went 'round to a new bar in the neighborhood. It's selling point was really the fact that it had prosecco on tap. This is the second bar this week I've seen that boasts this feature, and if this is a new trend, consider me ON BOARD.

I think tonight I'm going on a movie date with myself, one of my favorite activities.

Hammer strikes the metal and it makes me believe.

Obviously, this weekend was a blast. I had a night of restful solitude on Friday. I think I have a serious friend-crush on Zooey Deschanel, so I discussed this with her biggest fan, Rick. Jesse and I got in a video chat. Oh, and when I got off the subway on Friday, this happened:
Girl: Hey, I love your bag...'cause that band is great...
Me (looking down at my Motion City tote): Thanks! Yeah! I love them. Actually, the dude who plays the keyboards is my fiancee, we live here together--
Girl (looks embarrassed): Oh, cool...
(she laughs nervously and walks away superfast)
On the street, she's about twenty feet ahead and looks shyly back at me, we make eye contact, and she scurries away even faster. Huh? What did I do?! I was ready for conversation. We coulda been friends! Oh well.
I spent Saturday's torrential downpour in the apartment with Erica, Gaby, and Jonah. We watched one of my favorite movies ever, Swimming with Sharks, a super-dark comedy starring Kevin Spacey pre-Oscars. I even went through the formalities of introducing the film, and giving background (it was the "Devil Wears Prada" of Hollywood insiders at the time). We also decided that we're going to have an October film-viewing for dudes who haven't seen The Notebook, since Jesse hasn't, and Jonah and Adam both admitted they hadn't either. Jesse's mom actually gave us the movie on our last visit, and I told Jesse he had to wait to watch it when he got back. The funny thing is, all of them have heard it's a good movie, just you know, they're dudes. I'll most likely have an introduction speech for that one, too. Whatever.
You can probably tell from all the pics I posted via my sidekick that Sunday's hangs were epic. I'll just reiterate how much I love my friends, and when you're surrounded by good people, there's always good times.
