We don't need our heads cause our bodies are young.

It's been a while since I've been this excited about a new album. My good friend Tyler let me get a sneak listen to Have You Seen My Prefrontal Cortext? from his band A Great Big Pile of Leaves (AGBPOL). It's a stellar album, especially if you dig the likes of Nightmare of You, Brand New, The National, and a bit of fun.'s kookiness. I'll have a more comprehensive review up next week, but we're two weeks out from the release date on June 22nd, so I wanted to post about their awesome pre-sale. They are selling their album for FIVE BUCKS here and also selling a sweet package of t-shirt, album, and lunchbox. Yeah, a lunchbox.

I hope you dig this trio; Tyler let me post one of their songs up on my tumblr, called "We Don't Need Our Heads," so if you have a moment take a listen and then let me know what you think!! I've been playing this album repeatedly for the past week. I'm still trying to perfect all the "oh oh ohs" throughout some of the songs so next time I see them live I can keep up.

Let's have it: what do you think of the song? Like it enough to pre-order?

I was just in the middle of a dream.

Hello! Good morning!

Last Thursday night, Jesse and I were sitting to his grand birthday dinner at a lovely, fancy, expensive steakhouse when I realized that part of the reason we were even there was because of you. Yes, you. To any of those who voted for Jesse and me in Channing Johnson's photo contest - thank you! That gift certificate we won afforded us the night out.

Those pictures are above are of us heading out to dinner that night, and I'm kind of in love with the picture of the birthday boy. It's my iPhone wallpaper, admitted.

He flew off the next day for some shows in the Midwest, so my weekend was spent galavanting about with my extremely amazing friends. I also made a new blog header! Check it out! What do you think? And how was your weekend? And - and! - again, thanks!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUSBAND!

My mister was born some years ago today. Courteously, his actual age I'll not betray. Though let it be known it's his first birthday as husband to my wife. And I married this lovely man because I knew he'd continue giving me smiles, laughs, and sweetness in my life. Yes, things are quite sunshiney in our lives, even when he's away. This weekend he sets out for more traveling dates - but tonight he gets to stay! And so we'll gussy ourselves up and take ourselves out for some vino and some steak. And perhaps a little of his favourite dessert: some rich and delicious cheesecake. But I digress - it's my man's birthday and I really should describe: his sharing, his caring, his abundant loving, his rare dancing, his big hands, his peppering strands, you get the picture - if he was a magazine, I'd most definitely subscribe. He's so handsome and dreamy and still makes me all squeamy; we are so barfy and with love my eyes are always teeming. When he's gone it's still there, but of course I will miss him and pout. So today and tonight I rightly celebrate the man, the mister, my Jesse Mack, who I simply couldn't live without.

I'll just keep it to myself in the sun.

Another successful weekend. Getting away felt great, though after rounds of bocce, badminton, bag toss, and (wiffle) ball, my muscles are mad at me.

My parents are the best. My friends rule. I think the husband liked the birthday party. And we continue to celebrate...

I made my slow way home.

I love the Hipstamatic photo app for the iPhone (obviously) & I love my friends.

This (long!) weekend we're taking it to my parents' house for Jesse's birthday festivities!

How is your weekend looking?
