Sun turns the evening to rose.

Last night I kicked Jesse out of the apartment for two hours while me and the cats prepared a Valentine's Day feast. Now, I know when we go to fancy restaurants, Jesse loves to order the meatloaf - and I've never been a big fan. But I decided to show my culinary love through a home-baked loaf of meat. It was much easier than I anticipated, and I rounded it out with some potatoes au gratin and string beans with bacon. I sent Jesse on a mission to make a cocktail to go along with dinner, and e-mailed him this yummy-sounding drink. I also picked up a walnut brownie (for him) and a red velvet cupcake (for me).

He loved it! Of course.

It was quite delicious and we ended up very, very full. So we sat on the couch to watch L.A. Confidential, which is one of my top ten movies of all time. He'd never seen it and I loved watching it in blu-ray.

Then we ate dessert and snuggled to Alec Baldwin and the Jonas Brothers hosting SNL. We ended up being super-tired (all that food!) right after the show and forgot to open our cards to each other. This morning we did - and yeah:

I mean, I know I've said we're gross before. But I think we outdid ourselves here. We got each other the same card. And we wrote almost the exact same thing inside them.

Yeah.

  2. there are so many symbolically beautiful things (that are impossible to express in words) that can be captured in the gesture of two people giving each other the same love-day card...
