Since I was denied the change I craved a few weeks ago, I took matters into my own hands last night. I'm always thankful that when I feel like I can't control something, I have my hair. So it was time for bangs and a trim!

+

Rose Byrne's hair was the major inspiration. Fall and winter incognito.

+

I'll probably just get more Lea Michele comparisons. Ah well.

+

I'm considering dying it, too. The last time I tried dying my hair was in college ten years ago. Basically, my hair's too dark and it doesn't take color much. I'd love to go with this or this but it'll probably just still look brown. Tale as old as time, as Celine Dion sings.

+

I should probably mention the other reason I wanted to cut my hair was that bangs are somewhat necessary to my Halloween costume for Jiscilla's party this weekend...

+

Jesse returned from tour for a brief respite. Reports confirm he is "getting used to" my new 'do.

+

That first picture I took after getting a cavity filled this morning. My lips were numb. Drilling into my head for 45 minutes surprisingly gave me a terrible headache. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?

+

Back to the business at hand. I like my new hair. What say you?

  1. I love it! I think it looks great! And I am exactly the same way. I take out my need for change on my hair. I'm in a red phase, but every time I go I ask her to do a slightly different shade. And I'm currently growing out my bangs for additional change, but knowing me, I'll chop them off again soon. When it comes to dying your hair, have you tried lightening it before you add color? I think the violet would look awesome, but you're right, it's probably too dark as is to hold the color. Maybe pull some of your color out first and then add the color (unless you've already tried that, in which case, never mind). Oh, also, your shirt just reminded me that I bought Before Midnight this morning and I'm going to watch it ASAP. :)

    1. Thanks Lyndsey!
Even lightening won't work...and it's so bad for my hair, so I don't want to bleach it.
I didn't even know Before Midnight was on sale yet!!! YESSSSSS!!!

  2. Love the bangs. I'm jealous. Whenever I cut bangs nothing I do can make them stop curling. I don't know if it's fine hair so no weight to them but I wish it would work. I will live vicariously through your bangs.

  3. cute! you're lucky you can pull off bangs, my cowlick makes them impossible for me!

my hair is purple right now...i did have to bleach it first, though, because my hair is jet black. and crazy thick. it holds color really well, though, and even though we (well, my stylist) only used one shade of purple, it looks crazy dimensional. :) I say go for it, just make sure you get it professionally done because they can make sure to balance bleaching and conditioning so that it doesn't fry your hair. mine is fine.
