On Sunday night I went to the wedding of my friends Janice & Stu and had a grand ol' time with friends and meeting new people. Jaime was my date, though her boyfriend Andrew was there - but he was DJing! We gathered in this lovely art space in Brooklyn that had shallow pools of water in the floor surrounding the seating area. There were candles in the water, and giant ice sculptured vases along the aisle. Janice looked beautiful and outright glamorous! Their friend Matisyahu officiated the ceremony and many of their other friends read poems and sang songs for them. A truly special evening.

Remember that we all feel the weather.

Rip scripts, slash, burn up the courage.
For now, here's a list of random:
- I get to see Jesse next week!!!!
- Remember back in December, when I went to Chicago for the Motion City Soundtrack shows and posted each night's setlist to my tumblr? Well, since Motion City (re)learned their entire catalog back then, they're switching up their setlists each night of their current tour and Jesse has taken it upon himself to post their setlist each night to their own tumblr! Check it out!
- Their album My Dinosaur Life debuted on the charts at #15 !!! WOOOOOOO!!! Also, it's the only album artwork that doesn't show up on my computer here at work:
- Jesse and I are currently in the lead for that wedding photo contest - but please vote for us if you haven't! It ends on Monday, February 1st.
- I get to see Jesse next week!!!!
- Motion City is performing on THE JIMMY FALLON SHOW next week, too! You bet I'll be there!! (And of course, remind you to watch on February 2nd!)
- I got to hang out with my bestie Jiscilla last night, as she's taking off tomorrow to visit our other bestie Christy in Austin, TX. I'm jealous of sweet friend hangs PLUS sweeter weather than the snow/sleet that's going on right now in New York. However, last night was uproarious fun with the gang, and Jiscilla's lovely boyfriend Tyler footed the bill at the end of dinner in a suprise move. Dude rules.
- My friend Jim has the same "break out laugh face" that George Clooney does.
- In (seriously) unrelated news, Robert Downey Jr.'s Golden Globes speech has pushed him into the #1 spot on my own popularity chart, the Top Five. George, after years as king, has been dethroned. Also, in case you hadn't heard, Mark Ruffalo and Joseph Gordon-Levitt replaced Lee Pace and Chris Pine, as well.
- The gym, I'm loving it. Haven't skipped a morning yet!
- And I recieved another FormSpring question yesterday, another one I already answered! Here's the question: thanks for sharing! (i asked what you do for a living) "transponster" i detect a Friends reference! (You are correct!) It seems you live a lifestyle that is desperately desired, did you always imagine your life would turn out this way? If not, how did you imagine it would? Here's my answer! (It's somewhere there in that list!) Thanks for asking - and for thinking my life is desirable! I'm pretty happy with it!
- Of course, anyone can ask me anything.
- I get to see Jesse next week!!!!

We're just carbon-based, we're just pixie dust.
I just want to make sure you've heard: you can now stream Motion City Soundtrack's new album My Dinosaur Life on their MySpace page! It doesn't become available for download until the official release date on January 19th, but I'm so excited everybody gets to hear it! What do you think?! I'm so in love with all of it, all the songs, I love the album!
And if you love it as much via the stream, you should probably pre-order it for it $7.99 on Shockhound!
Also, if you haven't seen their newest music video for "Her Words Destroyed My Planet" - watch NOW! I hope it makes you laugh as hysterically as I did the first time I saw it:
(If the video looks cut off or weird - go to the site!)
How adorable are the kids? And the dancing? I remember Jesse flying to LA on a Friday back in December, arriving, learning the choreography with the kids on Friday night, and then filming the whole video over the course of Saturday, and leaving LA on Sunday! Hardworking, let me tell you!
I'm so proud of him & the dudes and it's all quite exciting to witness as everything they've been working on unfolds. Things are happening!

CHICAGO !
There I'll be seeing the husband, hanging with friends, meeting up with awesome bloggers, and seeing Motion City Soundtrack play their discography!
Updates to come - though, per usual, on-the-go blogging is much easier via my tumblr!

And now I think I'm ready to bust a move.
As Justin explains above, tonight you can see Motion City Soundtrack in concert! FREE! Get a free seat for this show via the interwebz at Deep Rock Drive HERE and tonight you can watch them in Vegas, change the camera angles, send them messages whilst they play, AND vote on the setlist! Jesse's been practicing their entire catalog to get prepared...what ever shall I vote for? Hmmm...I'd actually really love to hear the ender for their last album, "Even If It Kills Me." Also from their first, "Shiver" and "Perfect Teeth." But I pretty much like all their songs (always have!) and I think it will be an interesting experience. It's going to be different than actually seeing them live, obviously, where you have a crowd of energy and all the sensory feelings of a live show...but Motion City usually brings the energy, no matter what. Check out my fianz on the keyboards!!! The show starts at 7pm pacific, so 10pm here on the East Coast. I know Erica and I will be singing and shaking our hips tonight in our living room!
Last night was Christy's last Trainwreck :( Christy's moving from Manhattan to Austin, TX and it's her last week. I'll be writing a post just for her, one of my bestest friends, because this truly feels like the end of an era. When Erica and I moved here two years ago, we came together with Kelly, Christy, Jiscilla in a bond that will be for all time. Anyways, before I start getting teary, I'll stop! Last night was a lot of fun, and Christy fully enjoyed my going-away gift, which will make little sense to anybody outside of the five of us, but it was a commemoration of the foundation of our friendship, and all five of us coming together. It's also an assured way for the four of us to call her: I gave her The Source. Today after work is another hurrah for Christy, and my final with her, as I leave for Vegas tomorrow and by the time I get back, she'll be gone. (Oy, tears, stop!)
It's been a ridiculously busy and jam-packed week, and it's only Wednesday! The heat just really kicks it up that extra notch, too. Yesterday I bought an extra fan for my room and I was struggling when I got off the subway because I had to keep my arm at a 45 degree angle so the box didn't drag, and my arms, well, they were hurting. A young gentleman saw me struggling and offered to help. I usually don't take up these offers - ask Jesse, ha - but I gave in (la tee da). He introduced himself as Jesse, and I go, "That's my fiancee's name!" and that he was in a band, "So's my fiancee!" Haha...he made fun of me for asking if he'd heard of Motion City, as in, he obvs had, but I don't know, hipsters in Brooklyn bands aren't exactly MCS' usual demographic. He then stared up at my apartment building and asked if all of MCS lived there. Mmm, nope, Jesse's the only one that lives in this city, but fanx for the haul! Coincidence, coincidence.
Okay, STILL effin' loving the new My Morning Jacket. Also, Empires. ALSO - thank you Rick and Lindsay the podcast recommendz, as I've suscribed to the This American Life podcasts, and so far, I'm digging. Does anybody have any other podcasts I should suscribe to? I'm enjoying them in the morning as opposed to my usual three choices on the subway: read a book, listen to music, or seethe at the collective annoyingness of not having any viable media at hand and the crowded train of commuters.
Tonight it's Christy's bash, the concert (who's joining?!), and then I have to pack for VEGAS and California this weekend. More on that later!

Be cool, soda pop.
Katie Brown, Sean, Erica, and I spent a good portion flipping out about the Veronica Mars cruise, too. We're gonna go. Especially if Logan's on board.

Tony, via Beth's Flickr cause I already posted all my pics :) Get a load of those glasses. They all got them for a quick photoshoot yesterday. And because they all wanna be Kanye.
Saw a lot of friends backstage...or, you know, the people that come out of the woodwork when MCS is back in town. A bunch of those Crush kids...I met Alex Greenwald & his ladyfriend, who were supremely supremely nice (perhaps because I showed them where the beer was?)...and Pete & Ashlee were there and Jesse told Pete that he'd proposed and when he told me this story I was like, "Did you tell him congratulations back? Since they're engaged?" "No..." Oops. The afterparty was at AK, obvs, but we didn't feel like travelling crosstown and instead headed with our "entourage" (hahaha) to the Hawaiian Tropic Zone/bar thing in Times Square. Yeah. It was mega-fun, though, and the drinks were tasty while the talk was lively.
Oh, and the leis and bikinis - whatever. Then it was time to retire, though I was in a bit of a funk, but all turned out fine before sleep. [knock, knock, knock]
Tonight is another night of the Honda Civic Tour @ Roseland, and I'm stoked! I wouldn't mind seeing them every night of their two-month tour. :)
Random, because I can:
- Best thing I've read this week, via Daily Intel's Gossip Girl recap:
"Jenny uses Evite to invite people to a party instead of Facebook. What, is her Internet poor, too?"
- Stella McCartney calls dibs on bride-to-be Scarlett Johansson: "I'm definitely doing her wedding dress. She doesn't know it yet."
Oh hai, Stella, I can has wedding dress designed by you, too??? KFANX!
